Using APK files is one of the best ways to install apps, especially for those who have trouble with Google Play or want to save the device storage space. However, some people claimed that it’s hard to install apps that have both APK and OBB files. So, what is OBB? And how to download and install APK with OBB files? Let’s discover in today’s article.
OBB Files – What you need to know?
For those who have no idea about OBB, here is the answer you will need.
Opaque Binary Blob, also known as OBB, is the file containing app data such as sound, graphics, and other large program data. Because of the fact that many apps, especially games can require a huge amount of data, APK files can not contain all the needed information. Thus, developers used OBB files as a perfect solution for heavy and bulky Android apps or games. In other words, OBB acts as a Zip file, manifest file, and it contains the basic information of an APK file.

Notes before installs app via APK and OBB files
In general, OBB installation is a bit more complicated than APK’s one. Therefore, you guys need a third-party app called ES File Explorer to help you extract the OBB files. If you want to download and install APK + OBB on PC, don’t forget to install an Android emulator like BlueStack on your device and let ES File Explorer be available on the emulator. ES File Explorer can be easily downloaded and installed via APK files, and this tool is compatible with most of the smartphone and Android emulators.
In addition to it, remember to check the internet network to get a perfect download speed. Consider the fact that most of the games/apps containing OBB files are the large-sized ones, the internet speed will decide how long you have to wait for the whole installation.
